I believe the 12 hole tie-block to be superior to the standard classic tie-block
 
   

Bridge

The bridge is the multi-task-master of the guitar. It not only provides a solid anchor for the strings, it sets string height, spacing, alignment and intonation.  

Of equal importance is its function as the primary transducer (transmitter) of vibrations to drive the top and to ultimately produce those incredible undulations the human ear perceives as music.
